Where to go on a Monday Night?

  • It's a Monday night in Shanghai and you feel like going out with some friends. Where do you turn? The madness of the weekend has passed, but the start of Ladies Night and the following weekend has yet to start.

Don't worry Monday nights will become your new favorite night!

    Relaxing Monday Night

For a relaxing monday night with some nice music and drinks, I would suggest MeltingPot righ on the edge Tianzifang. This area of Shanghai is magnificient with the winding streets and old style housing. There are a number of places to grab drinks and dinner inside Tianzifang before listening to some blues. Bohemia, Kommune, Bali Bali, or Esther Teddy Bear Shop/Museum/Thai Restuarant are all good choices.

Chicha in Sinan Mansion is also a nice place to catch some Jazz for the night. There are many restaurants around the area with delicious food and drinks. Fat Olive, Boxing Cat Brewery, The Alchemist, are just a few suggestions.

    The Party Animal

I would start off with some cheap food such as Pizza at Briccocafe Pasta & Pizza Lounge

(make sure to reserve ahead of time) or some burgers at Masse Bistro & Bar. At Briccocafe you can chat and have a nice dinner with your friends and co-workers. At Masse you can chow down on a burger in one hand, down a beer in the other, while shooting billards, darts, or playing foosball.

Next after having some food in your stomach, I would move to Zaptas at 10 for some free drinks. Best get there at 9:45 to get a few drinks before the crowd rolls in. Zaptas is only a short ride from either location. Ladies shouldn't have a difficult time grabbing margaritas and gin tonics, however guys will have difficult with the extremely slow tap. Nevertheless, both genders should be able to have a decent amount of drinks for FREE. It will be extremely crowded inside so enjoy the nice courtyard outside that Zaptas shares with Sasha's. Also feel free to enjoy some shisha/hookah at Sasha's for 100RMB.

After enjoying free drinks on the house there are a wide variety of clubs that you can go to on a Monday night. However, keep in mind that there might be work the next day. If your tired of all the traveling I would suggest a quick two block walk to Phebe's or Mural which are both decent clubs with 100RMB all you can drink deals. Otherwise there are a long list of larger clubs on the Bund like Bar Rouge, M1NT, M2, Club G Plus (ladies night 9-12 free drinks) etc. This is sure to be a wild monday night you follow through.

P.S. Bubba's BBQ at Hongqiao, Expo Village, and the Bund. All have Wagyu Burgers for half price from 6pm-close

There you go! Two awesome plans for every type of person on Monday night! Now you can never have an excuse to sit at home bored on a Monday night. Now go out and enjoy and let me know what you think. Always open to more suggestions and ideas!
